When a person commits a crime, they should be punished for their actions. A lot of money is spent on housing prisoners that are sentenced to life in prison. The cost of keeping a 25– year old inmate for 50 years at presents amounts to $805,000. We feel that once a criminal is convicted of a crime, they should not be able to continue appealing to higher levels of court.  Instead of spending money on taking care of people who have committed heartless crimes, we should spend our money helping homeless families and helping Americans get out of debt. Historically, the execution of criminals has been used by nearly all societies. Capital punishment deters crime, prevents recidivism, and is an appropriate form of punishment for the crime of murder.
