Important Update: Flexible Instructional Day for Grades 7-12 on Thursday, December 14th

We wanted to inform you of an upcoming change in the schedule for students in grades 7-12 on Thursday, December 14th due to the Elementary School Christmas Program. On this day, students in grades 7-12 only will have a Flexible Instructional Day for online learning.

Considering the disruptions experienced during the Elementary Christmas Program at the Middle/High School, which include the need for additional staff assistance, parking issues, and the overall requirement for our police officers' attention during this event, we have opted to implement a Flexible Instructional Day for grades 7-12 only. This decision is aimed at ensuring a smoother and safer environment for all.

We understand that changes in the schedule can be challenging, but we believe that this decision is in the best interest of the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

In addition to the previous information regarding the Flexible Instructional Day (FID) on Thursday, December 14th, please note the following details:

On a FID/Remote Learning Day:

Your child will be required to complete learning activities and assignments provided by their teachers at home using Google Classroom.

We kindly ask for your support in ensuring your child has access to the necessary materials and a suitable learning environment for this day.

Additional Information and Reminders:

This remote learning/FID day will be an asynchronous learning day, meaning there will be no live sessions or live schedule.

Teachers will have their lessons for the day posted by 10:00 am on Google Classroom for all students.

Teachers will be readily available from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm through their email and Google Classroom to answer any questions you or your child may have.

After assignments are completed, teachers will grade them and place a grade in their ALMA gradebook.

All students in grades 7-12 must have all assignments turned in by midnight on December 14th, 2023 unless they have an excused absence (i.e., loss of internet, illness, etc.) turned into the office via email or in person the next day.

Each teacher will ensure their students understand the expectations of their class during a Flexible Instructional Day/Remote Learning Day.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this adjustment. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me, or your child's building principal.

Thank you for your continued support of your child's education.
