Solar Eclipse

On Monday, April 8th, the Jefferson-Morgan School District will embrace the extraordinary experience of the solar eclipse, a significant scientific event visible in Southwestern PA. In light of safety considerations highlighted by experts, including the importance of protective eyewear and the potential for driver distraction, we've decided to dismiss students 3 hours early, ensuring all are safely at home before the eclipse begins.

The Middle/High School will begin dismissal at 11:30am, and the Elementary School parent pickup will begin at 11:50am, with Elementary Bus Dismissal to follow.

Leading up to this day, our educators will engage students in educational activities about the eclipse and necessary safety precautions.

We hope that this advance notice allows families time to plan accordingly and partake safely in what is certain to be a historic event to remember.
