2023-2024 Teacher Awards

Exciting Announcement! The Jefferson-Morgan School District is thrilled to recognize our outstanding educators with the 2023-2024 Awards for Teachers!

 

First up, we have the Innovation Award, presented to teachers who have demonstrated a willingness to try new ideas and think outside the box:

 

🏅 MS/HS - Mrs. Lori Ardeno: Mrs. Ardeno has provided numerous Personalized Learning Sessions for our high school students, making a significant impact on their educational experience.

 

🏅 MS/HS - Mr. Michael Pochron: As a first-year teacher at JM, Mr. Pochron has created engaging morning announcements daily, led the Perennial Project for 3D animation, and instituted Senior Exit Interviews.

 

🏅 ES - Third Grade Team (Mrs. Rebecca Capozza, Mrs. Tracy Swinchock, and Mrs. Heather Wise): This dedicated team piloted the CKLA reading series, leading to its adoption for grades 3-5 next school year. Their innovation has set a new standard for reading instruction!

 

🏅 ES - Mrs. Maddie Loring: In her first year at JM, Mrs. Loring has introduced innovative teaching methods in math and organized our first annual Math Night, enriching our students' learning experiences.

 

Next, we celebrate the Teacher of the Year awards, honoring those who have gone above and beyond in their dedication to teaching:

 

🏆 MS/HS - Mr. Pete Pratt: Nominated by staff and students, both current and past, Mr. Pratt is a versatile teacher who excels in STEM education, ensuring hands-on learning for all his students.

 

🏆 ES - Mrs. Tracy Swinchock: Nominated by staff and parents, Mrs. Swinchock is recognized for her energy, caring nature, and positivity. She consistently takes the extra time to ensure her students succeed.
